Tour overview
Your full-day tour begins with pickup from your hotel or agreed meeting point in Muscat. We drive towards Misfat Al Abriyeen, one of Oman’s most beautiful traditional mountain villages. Built into the mountainside, Misfat is famous for its old stone and mud houses, narrow pathways, lush date plantations and traditional falaj irrigation system. After exploring the village, we continue through the spectacular Al Hajar Mountains towards Jabal Shams, known as the “Mountain of the Sun.” Jabal Shams is the highest mountain in Oman and is famous for its magnificent views over the deep canyon often referred to as the Grand Canyon of Oman. Here, you will have time to enjoy the scenery, take photographs and experience the peaceful mountain surroundings. The journey then continues to Jibreen Castle, one of Oman’s most impressive historic castles. Explore its beautifully decorated rooms, traditional architecture, courtyards and fascinating glimpse into Oman’s history and culture. After completing the tour, we begin our return journey to Muscat and drop you back at your hotel or agreed location.

What to bring
- Comfortable walking shoes, sunglasses, sun protection, a hat and a light jacket are recommended. Temperatures at Jabal Shams can be considerably cooler than in Muscat, particularly during the winter months.
