Tour overview

Discover Oman through an active ten-day itinerary designed for travellers who enjoy walking, swimming, culture, and nature. Tour Muscat, snorkel at the Daymaniyat Islands, hike Wadi Bani Kharus and Jabal Shams, explore Misfat, Nizwa and Jabal Akhdar, visit Izki and Ibra, experience Wahiba Sands, and finish with Wadi Bani Khalid, Wadi Tiwi, Wadi Shab and Bimmah Sinkhole.

Itinerary

1. 1
   Day 1 - Muscat City Tour | Muscat. Visit Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, Muttrah Souq and waterfront, Al Alam Palace and the Portuguese forts, Bait Al Zubair Museum, and the Royal Opera House.

   Day 2 - Daymaniyat Islands | Muscat. Join a 4-5 hour boat excursion from Al Mouj Marina for snorkeling among coral reefs, turtles, rays and colourful fish. Equipment, refreshments and reserve permits are provided by the boat operator.

   Day 3 - Wadi Bani Kharus, Wadi Bani Awf and Bilad Sayt | Al Hamra. Enjoy an easy hike through villages, palm gardens and mountain scenery, then travel through dramatic Wadi Bani Awf to the picturesque mountain village of Bilad Sayt.

   Day 4 - Jabal Shams Balcony Walk | Al Hamra. Drive past Ghul to Oman's Grand Canyon and complete the moderate 3-4 hour Balcony Walk with an approximate height difference of 250 metres.

   Day 5 - Misfat Al Abriyeen and Nizwa | Nizwa. Walk through Misfat's historic mud houses, date plantations and falaj channels, then explore Nizwa Souq, Fort and old town.

   Day 6 - Jabal Akhdar Villages and Wadi Bani Habib | Nizwa. Walk between plateau villages and terraced farms, explore Wadi Bani Habib, and learn about seasonal rose harvesting and traditional rose-water distillation.

   Day 7 - Izki, Ibra and Wahiba Sands | Desert Camp. Visit Izki's historic quarters and Ibra's mud-brick old town, then enter Wahiba Sands for dune scenery, sunset and an overnight Bedouin-style camp.

   Day 8 - Wadi Bani Khalid and Sur | Sur. Swim or relax beside Wadi Bani Khalid's clear pools, then continue to Sur for its fishing port, traditional dhow shipyard, lighthouse and coastal old quarter.

   Day 9 - Wadi Tiwi and Fins Beach | Sur. Hike through Wadi Tiwi's canyon, villages, plantations and falaj-fed greenery, then relax beside the sea at Fins Beach.

    Day 10 - Wadi Shab and Bimmah Sinkhole | Muscat. Take the boat crossing at Wadi Shab, walk through the canyon and swim toward the waterfall cave, then visit Bimmah Sinkhole before returning to Muscat.
