Experience the remarkable diversity of Oman on an immersive 14-day private expedition. Explore Muscat and the Daymaniyat Islands, follow the coast through Bimmah Sinkhole, Wadi Shab, and Sur, and cross Wahiba Sands to the Sugar Dunes and remote southern coast. Continue through Duqm and Al Shuwaymiyah to Salalah for city, beach, mountain, archaeological, and Empty Quarter adventures. Return north to Nizwa for Jabal Akhdar, Jabal Shams, Al Hamra, Misfat Al Abreen, Jibreen Castle, and Bahla Fort.

Itinerary

1. 1
   Day 1 - Muscat City Tour | Muscat Visit Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, the Royal Opera House, fish market, Mutrah Waterfront and Souq, Al Alam Palace and Portuguese forts, and Bait Al Zubair Museum or enjoy a beach walk.

   Day 2 - Daymaniyat Islands | Muscat Transfer to the marina for a boat trip to the protected Daymaniyat Islands. Snorkel among coral reefs and marine life, with equipment, snacks, and refreshments provided.

   Day 3 - Bimmah Sinkhole, Wadi Shab and Sur | Sur Follow the coast to Bimmah Sinkhole, trek and swim at Wadi Shab, then continue to Sur for the dhow shipyard, fishing town, lighthouse, and coastal views.

   Day 4 - Sur, Wadi Bani Khalid and Wahiba Sands | Desert Camp Travel to Wadi Bani Khalid for walking and swimming, then cross the dunes of Wahiba Sands and reach the desert camp before sunset. Optional camel rides and dune bashing are available.

   Day 5 - Wahiba Sands, Ras Ruwais, Sugar Dunes and Al Khaluf | Camp Cross Wahiba Sands to Ras Ruwais, where dunes meet the Arabian Sea, then follow the coast to Al Khaluf and the pale Sugar Dunes for overnight camping.

   Day 6 - Sugar Dunes, Duqm and Al Shuwaymiyah | Camp Travel south through Duqm and Ras Madrakah to remote Wadi Ash Shuwaymiyah, subject to road conditions, for dramatic rocks, caves, palm groves, and desert scenery.

   Day 7 - Al Shuwaymiyah, Mirbat and Salalah | Salalah Continue into Dhofar, visit historic Mirbat and its merchant houses, then arrive in subtropical Salalah and check into the hotel.

   Day 8 - Salalah City and West | Salalah Visit Sultan Qaboos Mosque, the Frankincense Land Museum, Al Baleed, plantations, and Haffa Souq. Continue to Mughsail Beach, blowholes, frankincense trees, mountain springs, and Fazayah Beach.

   Day 9 - East Salalah | Salalah Explore Taqah Castle and Sumhuram Archaeological Park at Khor Rori, then continue to Wadi Darbat for river scenery, seasonal waterfalls, and natural landscapes.

    Day 10 - Ubar and the Empty Quarter | Desert Camp or Wild Camp Visit the archaeological site of Ubar, the legendary Atlantis of the Sands, then journey into the Rub Al Khali for sunset and an overnight stay among immense dunes.

    Day 11 - Salalah to Nizwa | Nizwa Drive approximately seven hours north to Nizwa with comfort breaks and possible sightseeing stops en route. Check into a heritage inn.

    Day 12 - Birkat Al Mouz and Jabal Akhdar | Nizwa Visit Birkat Al Mouz's old settlement, oasis, and falaj, then ascend Jabal Akhdar for terrace views, villages, Wadi Bani Habib, and Al Sograh.

    Day 13 - Jabal Shams, Al Hamra and Misfat Al Abreen | Nizwa Enjoy Omani Grand Canyon views at Jabal Shams, with an optional Balcony Walk, then explore Al Hamra and Misfat Al Abreen's old houses, plantations, and falaj channels.

    Day 14 - Nizwa, Jibreen Castle and Bahla Fort | Muscat Airport Attend Nizwa's livestock auction when operating, visit the souq and Nizwa Fort, then explore Jibreen Castle and stop at UNESCO-listed Bahla Fort before returning to Muscat Airport.
